I'm an Englishwoman, living in Kent, England, and telling it as I see it. I am sometimes mad in the American sense and sometimes in the English sense. Why am I writing? To get things "off my chest" as they say, to be heard, because I am pretty opinionated and maybe to start a debate.
I don't claim to be knowledgeable about any subject I write about, just averagely uninformed. When I'm not blogging I am an educator (or try to be), mother (two boys), wife, daughter, sister, friend and many other things.
I like being with with my family and friends, reading, crosswords, sudokus, cooking, eating, music and knitting.
I dislike most politicians, anybody whose job requires them to lie, political correctness (it's an oxymoron), the global warming "industry", the compensation culture (and it's parent the "nanny state"), hypocrisy, stupidity, parents who don't parent, people who don't discuss calmly but get personal and uptight, and all those people who have "rights" but no responsibilities.
I get angry about poverty, ignorance and people who have no respect for themselves, for their environment or for other people. In fact I get mad at all sorts of things. Read on and you'll no doubt find out what sorts of things!
You won't find my name on here, not because I'm ashamed of what I write but because my kids have a right to privacy and I, as a parent have a responsibility to protect them. They don't need their friends teasing them because their Mum's a nutter. The same applies to my husband, he's well known in his own field he doesn't need to be known as being married to a lunatic.
What you will find on this site is links to a number of charities and organisations I support and to other places that are related to some of my hobbies or which are just fun. It's my way of giving a bit of support to things I think are worth supporting.
WARNING
I don't "do" political correctness. I say what I think. I don't aim to offend anyone but if you are easily offended then don't read on. My opinions are just that - my opinions, if you don't like them then you have the whole Internet at your fingertips, go and read something else.
